Phil Hyun was also an early member of Azigza (when the band had 2 violins) but left the band in 1997 in order to start a family and a business. Now that both are doing well Phil has rejoined Azigza on a part-time basis. You may see Phil substituting for Aryeh or see them both playing together for a huge dual violin extravaganza. Phil also plays mandolin and guitar which gives Aryeh the flexibility to play other instruments. Phil is a classically trained violinist who started lessons at the age of 4. He has been playing folk, blues, and jazz styles for the past 20 years and can often be heard sitting in with various bands in the San Francisco area. His recent appearance at ProgDay in North Carolina with Azigza was impressive and well-recieved.
